A lot of people joke around a lot about how much they hate alarm clocks. But the truth is, they are a pretty cool invention. Many people would probably no longer have jobs if they no longer had their alarm clock to wake them up each morning. Alarm clocks wake us up and, for those of us who go to work every day, they kind of keep our economy going. Like most people, I had no idea that the origins of the alarm clock go back to ancient sundials and water clocks. According to this interesting infographic, those were really the first clocks. And how about just drinking a lot of water before going to bed, if you don’t have an alarm clock on hand? (Never heard of that idea before, though I guess it would work!).
